Collections
How to organize listings with collections — create, manage, share, and discover curated lists.

What Are Collections?
Collections are your personal way to organize listings on GrowLab Market. Think of them like folders or Pinterest boards — you group listings that go together so you can find them later.
Some ideas for collections:
- Wishlist — plants you want to buy when budget allows
- Propagation plans — cuttings and mother plants for your next project
- Next tank setup — hardscape, plants, and equipment for an upcoming build
- Gift ideas — listings a friend might like
Every account starts with a default Saved collection. You can create as many additional collections as you need, and each one can be kept private or shared publicly with others.
Saving Listings to a Collection
When you find a listing you want to keep track of, look for the bookmark icon on the listing card or the Save to collection button on a listing's detail page.
- Click the bookmark icon or Save to collection button. If you are not signed in, you will be asked to log in first.
- A panel appears showing all your collections with checkboxes.
- Check the collections you want to save the listing to — you can save one listing to multiple collections at once.
- To remove a listing from a collection, uncheck the box. The listing itself is not affected; it just no longer appears in that collection.
You can also create a new collection on the spot from the same panel. Type a name in the "New collection" field at the bottom, press Add, and the listing is automatically saved there.
Creating a Collection
There are two ways to create a new collection:
From the Save Panel
While saving a listing, scroll to the bottom of the collections panel, type a name (up to 60 characters), and click Add. The collection is created instantly and the current listing is added to it.
From Your Account Dashboard
- Go to your Account page.
- Under Personal collections, click the New collection button.
- Enter a name (required, up to 60 characters) and an optional description (up to 200 characters) to remind yourself what the collection is for.
- Click Create.
Your new collection appears alongside your other collections as a card showing the name, description, listing count, and thumbnail previews of the first few items.
Managing Your Collections
All your collections are managed from the Account page under the Personal collections section. Each collection card shows:
- The collection name and description
- How many listings are inside
- Whether it is Public or Private
- Thumbnail previews of saved listings
Click any collection card to view the listings inside it. You can also click the All saved card to see every listing you have saved across all collections in one combined view.
Editing a Collection
Click the three-dot menu on a collection card and choose Rename to change its name or description.
Changing Visibility
From the three-dot menu, choose Make public or Make private to toggle who can see the collection:
- Private (default) — only you can see it.
- Public — anyone with the link can view the collection and its listings.
When you make a public collection private again, any previously shared links will stop working.
Deleting a Collection
From the three-dot menu, choose Delete. You will see a confirmation dialog. Deleting a collection removes the grouping only — the listings themselves are not affected and remain on the marketplace.
Note: the default Saved collection cannot be deleted.
Viewing a Collection
When you open a collection — either from your account page or from a public share link — you see all the listings inside displayed as a browsable grid.
The collection page includes tools to help you find specific items:
- Search by title, seller name, tag, or location
- Filter by category, condition, and price range
- Sort by newest saved, oldest saved, price (low/high), or alphabetically
These filters work on the listings already in the collection, making it easy to narrow down large lists.
Public Collections and Sharing
Making a collection public turns it into a shareable page that anyone can visit. Public collections display:
- The collection name and description
- The curator's profile with avatar and verified badge (if applicable)
- All listings in the collection with search, filters, and sorting
- Share buttons for sending the collection to others
How to Share a Collection
- Make sure the collection is set to Public (from the three-dot menu on your account page).
- Open the collection page. You will see a Share this collection section with several options:
- Facebook — share directly to your Facebook feed
- Messenger — send the link via Facebook Messenger
- Viber — forward the collection link through Viber
- Copy link — copy the URL to your clipboard so you can paste it anywhere
- Share (on mobile) — uses your device's built-in share sheet for quick sharing to any app
You can also copy the share link directly from the three-dot menu on the collection card in your account dashboard without opening the collection page first.
Tips
- Save now, sort later. Quickly save listings to your default Saved collection, then organize them into specific collections when you have time.
- Use descriptions. A short note on each collection helps you remember the theme weeks later.
- Share your favorites. Public collections are a great way to recommend listings to friends or your plant community group.
- One listing, many collections. The same listing can appear in multiple collections, so feel free to overlap.
